Founded in 1897, the Seattle Humane Society is King County’s largest private animal shelter and the community’s leading resource for animal lovers and pet guardians. Dedicated to bringing people and pets together, the Seattle Humane Society serves over 14,000 animals and 40,000 people per year through a broad range of services, including adoptions, low-fee veterinary services, humane education, and a Visiting Pets Program, which brings the love of animals to seniors who are not able to have pets of their own.
